SMS Tips and Practice: Planning

One thing you can do to get customers interested in your texts is to plan ahead.

For example, The Blue Shoes boutique shoe store could send a message one month about an opening day. Later in the week, to keep the opening day fresh in customers’ minds, they could send a reminder of opening sales and the closing date. The next two weeks, it could send a date about a cookies and tea event. The next month, it could send out a message for the best shoe and outfit contest.

The point is SMS text messages can go a long way in small businesses if you sit down and plan ahead. Test it out! Let us know how it goes. If you have questions on how best to use SMS in your marketing strategy or have a good tip to share with other Red Oxygen users, contact Angie Castillo.  Remember the key is to make the SMS personal, short and recognize each recipient as an individual.
