WhatsApp and other messaging services may be gaining a momentum. But independent research company, Portio Research, believes SMS text messages are still popular and will be for some time.
Portio Research disagrees with popular opinion that SMS is slowly phasing out in favor of OTT.
According to Portio, not only is SMS not dead, it’s growing substantially! It expects the market to increase this year by 23 percent. All this market research led Portio to the conclusion that:
“SMS is not dead. SMS is still the king and will remain so for some time to come.”
